Artists trained in the classical European academic tradition were taught drawing, painting, sculpture, engraving, and architecture—all disciplines whose boundaries were strictly policed. Today, artists have exploded traditional definitions of medium, from employing their own bodies as sites of expression to shaping the formless universe of code. The Legal Medium is a multidisciplinary, multi-year exploration of the ways in which contemporary artists from diverse backgrounds and disciplines encounter, take advantage of, and seek to mold law.
